Overview

Maintenance therapy is typically a longer term therapy, and used after an initial round of treatment. The goals of maintenance therapy are usually to help the body maintain a response to the initial treatment, and to prevent or delay the cancer from returning. Maintenance therapy may also be called continuous therapy.
