Virginia Cancer Specialists is the largest independently owned oncology group in Northern Virginia with over 40 oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and advanced care practitioners providing state of the art care across the full spectrum of oncology and hematology. The Virginia Cancer Specialists Research Institute runs cutting edge clinical trials ranging from first in human studies to international late phase protocols offering patients access to the most sophisticated treatment options currently available.

Virginia Cancer Specialists (VCS) was founded 45 years ago and over the decades has grown to become the largest privately run hematology and oncology practice in Northern Virginia. We have a dedicated team of exceptionally well-trained physicians providing care across the full spectrum of cancer and blood disorders. There is expertise across the disciplines of cancer medicine including, medical oncology, hematology, breast surgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedic oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care, genetic counseling, oncology social work, nutritionists and more. Patients should rightly expect and will receive the highest quality of care, in an expeditious and professional manner, conveniently located in nine locations throughout Northern Virginia.

A cornerstone of the practice is the Virginia Cancer Specialists Research Institute, which oversees one of the largest portfolios of clinical trials in the DC metropolitan area in diseases ranging from breast cancer, lung cancer, GI malignancies, prostate cancer, leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. In collaboration with the US Oncology network and leading pharmaceutical companies, VCS is able to provide the next generation of molecularly targeted drugs and immunotherapy on clinical protocols. Finally, we have the region’s largest Phase 1 Clinical Trial program allowing access to the newest investigational agents.
